Which Hindi layout should you choose?

Krutidev 010

Legacy font used with the typewriter (Remington) layout. Common in UP, Rajasthan, Bihar and MP state exams.

Mangal Inscript

The Govt of India Unicode standard. Used by many central exams and offered in SSC and CPCT.

Remington GAIL

Same key positions as Krutidev, typed in Unicode (Mangal font). Offered in SSC, CPCT and most CBT exams.

Can I do Hindi typing without installing Krutidev font?

Yes. The Krutidev/Remington and Inscript layouts are built into the test. Type on your English keyboard and the Hindi text appears in Unicode.

Is Krutidev and Remington GAIL the same?

The key positions are the same. Krutidev 010 is a legacy (non-Unicode) font, while Remington GAIL produces Unicode text (Mangal font) with the same typewriter layout.

What Hindi typing speed is required?

Typically 25 WPM for Railway, UP and state exams, 30 WPM for SSC CHSL, and 20 NWPM for CPCT — check your exam page for details.

How do I type 'ि' in Remington?

Press F before the consonant: F then D types कि. For reph (र्) type the letter and then Shift+Z, e.g. dk;Z = कार्य.
